THE BASICS OF SOLAR PV 

The course will focus on the basics of Solar PV Systems. Non-electricians are welcome to join us. This course is a foundation for the Solar PV Installer/ Technician courses. During the 2 days we cover all key topics including types of PV systems, solar irradiation, solar cells, solar modules, shading, basics of installation/mounting.

Solar Photovoltaic System Mounter 

This course qualifies a candidate to operate as a solar pv mounter, who mounts pre-designed PV Systems. At the end of the course the participants will be able to perform the tasks expected of a Solar PV Mounter who mounts pre-designed PV systems according to instructions from either a PV Installer or PV Designer.

16-20 nov

Solar Photovoltaic Installer 

The course provides our candidates with all the need to know about solar PV systems. This 5 days course covers all the key topics to prepare the candidate to operate as a PV installer.  As a PV installer you will be in a position to liaise with clients, conducts site visits, design & test PV systems for functionality. There is big emphasis on the practicals.Our course was developed and aligns with the curriculum of the SAPVIA 5-day Solar PV Installer course. We will therefore fully prepare you for the PV GreenCard solar PV Assessment.

Solar Photovoltaic Technician (PV Farm)

The purpose of this part qualification is to prepare the learner to operate as a service and maintenance technician at a Solar PV Farm. They perform maintenance (preventative, scheduled, unscheduled) on PV systems on Solar PV farms in compliance with manufacturers specifications and within a regulatory framework that governs health and safety and includes regulations of the Department of Minerals and Energy (DMRE).

Solar Water Heater Installer

The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as a Solar Water Installer. The solar water installer installs, tests, repairs and maintains solar water heating systems and equipment. These tasks will meet the requirements for safe and correct installation of new and replacement of non-functioning domestic solar water heating systems complete with all the relevant and applicable safety and hydraulic control units.

Duration: 4 Days
